What Is DAXXIFY?
DAXXIFY is a recently FDA-approved treatment from Revance Aesthetics designed to minimize moderate to severe glabellar lines (the “elevens”). Sometimes called DAXI for short, this peptide-powered botulinum toxin temporarily blocks neurotransmitters that cause muscle movement. This smooths dynamic wrinkles and prevents new lines from forming.
What Does DAXXIFY Treat?
In addition to treating lines between the forehead, DAXXIFY can be used off-label to treat TMJ disorder by softening the masseter muscles, forehead creases, crow’s feet, and fine lines on the nose (“bunny lines”).
How Is DAXXIFY™ Different From BOTOX® Cosmetic Or Dysport®?
For more than 20 years, BOTOX Cosmetic has cornered the anti-wrinkle injectables market. One of the reasons DAXXIFY’s release is so exciting is that it lasts significantly longer than other neuromodulators like BOTOX Cosmetic or Dysport. While all three injectables use botulinum toxin to fight signs of aging, DAXXIFY is stabilized by a proprietary peptide.
This stabilizing component means DAXXIFY results can last six to nine months (about two to three times longer than BOTOX Cosmetic). DAXI also tends to outlast Dysport, which typically produces results for about three to four months.
In addition to being a longer-lasting alternative to other neurotoxins, DAXXIFY is the first that doesn’t use human or animal byproducts as a stabilizer.
Am I A Good Candidate For DAXXIFY?
